A new firmware update has been released for SMART Board GX displays. Firmware 2.0 is now live and available through over-the-air updates. This firmware release adds more value to the SMART Board GX series display and helps position it as a high-quality, entry-level display with updated security, integration, and collaboration features. Here’s what’s new:
- Improved cloud integration: Users can save directly to OneDrive or Google Drive from the embedded whiteboard.
- Ink over a shared screen: Teachers can ink over a shared screen using the acetate ink overlay, when students are wirelessly sharing to the display.
- Settings lock: Admins can passcode protect display settings. This helps prevent unauthorized access to networks, accounts and more.
- Embedded operating system lockout: Admins can lockout specific inputs, including the embedded operating system.
- Display wake-up: Waking a connected computer on HDMI2 port from standby will automatically wake up the display.
- Network proxy for Wi-Fi connections: Users can now define use of an internet proxy server when connecting to a Wi-Fi network.
- New languages: Supported languages now include Ukrainian and Basque.
